Kalmadi when mentioned in his speech at closing ceremony Bhanot's name to acknowledge his efforts for making the Games a success,there was loud booing from the thousands present in the stadium. When Kalmadi arrived in the stadium the wrath of the audience greeted him with loud jeers.
Kalmadi received cheers when he thanked Manmohan Singh,Congress president Sonia Gandhi Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit for their help to organise the Commonwealth Games in the capital city of Delhi
