ABOUT THE EVENT | ||
Since the onset of formal diplomatic relations in 1992, the trajectory for India Israel cooperation has been rising at a rate that has surprised both governments. The immense complementarity of the relationship is now recognised by both countries. While there is much public focus on the defence relationship, the future lies more with the many ways Israeli technology can be used to boost the development of India’s critical sectors including food security; water management and efficiency; cyberspace and data protection; E-learning and innovation; and the ambitious digitalization drive. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Jerusalem, the first by an Indian head of government to Israel, is momentous because it gives political legitimacy to a relationship that was often kept under wraps due to political correctness. The session would discuss the significance of his visit, the opportunities and challenges ahead and engender a roadmap for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the coming years. | ||
