CII EXPORTS SUMMIT 2018
Exports - Bringing in a New Wave of Growth
26 October 2018 | Hotel Leela Palace, New Delhi
India’s exports are entrusted with a two-pronged target, to drive the economic growth of India as the nation strives for a $5 trillion economy by 2025 and achieve the goal of India being in the top ten trading nations globally by 2022. The Government of India is dedicatedly strategizing to build a framework that will enable exports to bring in a new wave of growth and as part of this endeavour, the Government has recently announced an array of steps like removal of withholding tax on Masala bonds, relaxation for foreign portfolio investments, curbs on non-essential imports, widening CAD and checking the rupee depreciation. These initiatives have encouraged the industry to work closely with the Government and collectively work towards the objectives of the nation.
The dialogue to build a robust and thriving exports ecosystem has begun, however, there are still impediments in this growth narrative that need to be dealt with. With this background, CII is organising the CII Exports Summit 2018 on 26 October 2018 from 1000 - 1800 hrs (Registration starts at 0900 hrs at the venue) at the Grand Ballroom, Hotel Leela Palace, New Delhi. The Summit will discuss matters related to building competitiveness in the industry, increasing engagement with States and sustaining and increasing the current rate of growth amidst a volatile global trade environment.
The Summit would provide an opportunity to industry to interact with various stakeholders of export eco-system including Government officials, funding agencies and many others. The platform would help in sharing the issues and recommendations with the relevant authorities.
