India has slammed Pakistan over the Pulwama terror attack carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed and asked Islamabad to stop supporting terrorists and dismantle terror infrastructure operating from its soil.
The Ministry of External Affairs, MEA in a release also strongly reiterated its appeal to all members of the international community to support the proposal to list terrorists, including Jaish-e-Mohammed Chief Masood Azhar, as a designated terrorist under the 1267 Sanctions Committee of the UN Security Council.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Srinagar today to take stock of the situation in the wake of the terrorist attack on the CRPF convoy.
An official said, Mr Singh will hold review meetings with senior security and police officials to make ground-level assessment and review further operational actions.
The Ministry is also rushing teams of NIA and forensic experts to carry out investigation into the dastardly attack.
New Delhi said Masood Azhar has been given full freedom by the Pakistan government to operate and expand his terror infrastructure in territories under the control of Islamabad and to carry out attacks in India and elsewhere with impunity. It again appealed to ban terror groups operating from territories controlled by Pakistan.
Condemning the attack as cowardly, heinous and despicable, the MEA said, the government of India is firmly and resolutely committed to taking all necessary measures to safeguard national security. It said India is equally resolved to fight against the menace of terrorism.
India expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the fearless security personnel who made the supreme sacrifice.

US, Russia and France asserting that they stand with India in combating the menace of terrorism.
Top US lawmakers rallied behind India and extended their condolences and support. Senator Jack Reed said in a tweet that Washington stands alongside New Delhi in confronting terror and defeating it. US Ambassador to India Kenneth Juster also extended America’s support.
The Russian Embassy stressed the need to combat such inhuman acts with a decisive and collective response, without any double standards.
Ambassadors of France, Germany, Australia, Turkey, Canada and Czech Republic also condemned the attack.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has strongly condemned the attack, calling for the perpetrators to be brought to justice. At the press briefing, Mr Guterres’ spokesperson Stephane Dujarric wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack.
When asked about India’s appeal to international community to support the proposal to list terrorists, including Masood Azhar, as a designated terrorist, Mr Dujarric said, the issue is one that is in the hands of the UN Security Council.
Expressing solidarity, neighbouring countries Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives vowed to combat terrorism jointly.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kathmandu in a statement said Nepal unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and believes that such heinous acts cannot be justified on any ground.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in a message through the country’s High Commission, extended her support. She said her country maintains a zero tolerance policy against any kind of terrorist activities.
Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena said, the world must condemn such brutal attacks and take effective action to prevent such incidents in future.
