Congress special meet at PM residence

2009-05-14 09:46:40 - With exit polls of Electronic media is showing fracture mandate with an edge of UPA conglomerate and is likely to form the government in the centre.Hectic parleys are on today as Congress special meeting is called at PM residence with Sonia Gandhi present as chair person of UPA.Similarly the BJP is to hold core group meet today at thier prime Ministerial candidate LK Advani house with Rajnath the President of BJP.Left to meet on Sunday as counting begins on Saturday morning and Third front likely to meet on Monday as per the details given by AIR.

Samajwadi Party, a key constituent of the Fourth Front, on Thursday kept its cards close to the chest about its role in government formation before the results of Lok Sabha elections are out."I will not speak anything before May 16 (date for counting of votes). I will not meet or talk to anybody before the announcement of results," SP chief
Mulayam Singh Yadav told reporters in New Delhi.

SP, which supports the UPA from outside, along with alliance partners RJD and LJP formed a Fourth Front ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad has also spoken in similar vein.
LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan has said that his party was not averse to supporting any alternative secular government if UPA fails to get the numbers, but the final decision will be taken jointly by the Fourth Front.

The role of the Front will assume significance in government formation with various exit polls projecting a hung Parliament.On exit polls indicating poor performance by the SP, Yadav said he did not trust such surveys.
