Korea Tourism: “Visit Korea Year 2010–2012”

In Delhi at Shanrila Hotel Korea Tourism has announced - Visit Korea Year 2010–2012 is a major campaign inviting tourists from all across the world to introduce and experience the unique elegance, flavors of South Korea providing diverse and convenient benefits such as discount programs for long stay visitors, welcome plan with mega events, Korea Grand Sale and tourist coupon service.
Korea Tourism Organization officially announcing the celebration of the “Visit Korea Year 2010–2012” The event emphasized destination Korea’s year round attractiveness for the Indian visitors showcasing the nation’s fantastic travel and hospitality options.
Korea, a fast emerging destination out of India, has four distinct seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. The destination’s spring season coincides with the Indian summer season
and making it an ideal getaway to escape from the scorching heat of India. Korea is a mountainous country with Seoul the capital, has played host to the FIFA World Cup in 2002 and G-20 Global Summit this year and has made its presence felt as a world class metropolis on the global map. The most visited places in Korea are: Seoul, Gangwon–do Province, Jeju-do Island and Busan City.
Convention industry is also highly developed in Korea and it has hosted 293 international conventions in 2008. Korea is ranked as 12th country in the world of convention and Seoul is on 7th position. Korea also has top two world class theme park one is Lotte World and another is Everland. Incheon Airport is gateway to South Korea which is ranked as number one airport in the world for five years in a row, acknowledged by Airport Council International. Korea has a bullet train called KTX which runs over 300 kms per hour is also at 5th position in the world. While many people are aware of Korea’s long history and rich traditions, they are still amazed upon visiting at the profound beauty of the country’s natural, historical and cultural relics.
Mr. Tae Shik Kim, Director of Korea Tourism Organization New Delhi office, mentioned that “Korea is also preparing various events from 2010–2012 such as the Seoul Design Olympiad 2010, Korean F1 Grand Prix in Yeongam 2010, IAAF World Championship Daegu 2011, EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea, Korean Wave(Korean Drama & Movie) Festival, World Cultural Festival, International Tourism and Food Festival, Cheju island’s Ole Tracking Competition, DMZ(Demilitarized Zone) World Peace Music Festival and Tae-an Environment Festival. The years from 2010-2012 are the years when one should visit Korea. So be ready to experience altogether a new culture”, he added.
