Designing long term future of Delhi

Nksagar-Sagar Media Inc:Event "Delhi 2050", initiative arch i* architectural platform is supported by Dutch Design Fashion Architecture Programme** and The Embassy of The Netherlands in India.The first series of Public events from 5th to 7th March were successfully held in the presence of eminent experts from the Netherlands, top Dutch planners Ton Venhoeven: National Architect for Infrastructure in The Netherlands and Bart Vink; project head of ‘Randstad 2040’. Dunu Roy (Activist and Environmentalist), Sohail Hashmi (Scholar and activist), Bharati Chaturvedi (Author “Finding Delhi”), Dinesh Mohan, (Coordinator TRIPP), Sudipto Ghosh (Architect, S.Ghosh and Associates), Ravi Agarwal (Director Toxic Links), Ashok B. Lal (Architect, A B Lall & Associates)and I.M Chishti (Archiect, Studio IF) participated in the discussions addressing vital urban issues.
“From Walled city to World City” - Why does it have to be one or the other?
Considering the worsening traffic situation, will the Delhi of the future make movement impossible? What needs to be reorganized – our city typology or city networks?
In the workshops at the busiest traffic nodes of the city, AIIMS Flyover and at the top of Connaught Place, the roof of Statesman House, a group of professionals from different disciplines brain-stormed and modelled the future of Delhi.
The next series of public events will be launched on 13th March, SUNDAY at 11:00 PM, Chandni Chowk. The underlining theme of the events scheduled till 15th March, will be ‘DESIGN in DELHI 2050’.
