Northern Indian Amateur Golf Championship

28th March, Chandigarh: The Indian Golf Union , in association with Par Sports Leisure & Adventure Management Pvt. Ltd. (SLAM G), announced the onset of Northern India Amateur Golf Championship today. The championship is scheduled to be held at Chandigarh Golf Club from 29th March – 1st April, 2011.

Around 68 top selected golfers of the country through qualifying tournament and Merit list will play in the 4-day event and 34 players will be in the cut list to be decided after 36 holes. The National level tournament will be played in Stroke Play format.

While the who’s who of amateur golf of the country will compete for top honours at the Chandigarh Golf Club, Abhijit Chadha, No. 1 Indian Amateur Golfer, will add local flavour to this National Level event. Included in the field are Haryana Open’s winner Arshad Ali of Delhi Golf Club and Surya Jai Prakash of Royal Calcutta Golf Club. They will be joined by a host of existing players from all over the country who will be anxious to prove their mettle at the National level.
