Khade bags 5 medals and Sejwal comes home with 3 from the 7th Singapore Open Swimming Championships - Bangalore, 25th June 2011: GoSports Foundation scholars, Virdhawal Khade and Sandeep Sejwal ended their campaign in style at the 7th Singapore Open Swimming Championships, a qualification meet for the London 2012 Olympics. Khade, the young sensation from India bagged 2 Golds and 3 Bronze medals, while teammate Sejwal brought home 2 Golds and a Silver.
Winning the Gold in the 50m and 100m Freestyle events with times of 23.21 and 51.08 seconds respectively, Asian Games Medalist, Khade was in top form at the event. Khade also added three Bronze medals to his tally while competing in the 200m Fresstyle event (1:52.54), 100m Butterfly Event (55.37) and as a significant member of the 400m Freestyle Relay team.
Sejwal was as impressive in his performance securing podium finishes in all the events he participated in. Winning the Gold in his favorite event, the 50m Breaststroke, with a time of 29.10 seconds, Sejawal also won the Gold Medal in the 100m Breaststroke event, where he clocked a time of 1:03.72. The 22 year old Sejwal ended his winning streak at Singapore with a Silver in the 200m Breastroke event with a time of 2:17.50.
