Disagreement on Lokpal Bill: Govt

Govt and team Anna get on to disagreement on Lokpal Bill: Government says that there is no unanimity on Lokpal Bill and efforts are on to arrive at a consensus before the finalisation of the draft legislation. Talking to media in New Delhi, the Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram said the views of States have been sought on various issues. This includes bringing Prime Minister under the purview of proposed Lokpal Bill. He said the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherji has written a letter to the chief ministers in this regard. Mr. Chidambaram said that the joint drafting committee is on the right path to arrive at a consensus on the issue.He said, before finalizing the draft all political parties will also be consulted. Mr. Chidambaram however asserted that the draft bill will be introduced in the monsoon session of Parliament.
