62nd Junior National Basketball Championship in New Delhi

62nd Junior National Basketball Championship in New Delhi begins from 5 July-12 July ,from 4.30 PM onwards at Thyagaraj stadium.Ajay Maken,the Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports Government of India will be the chief Guest.National Championship with total of cash prize of up to Rs 4 Lakhs will be presented to the winners,runners up and 26 boys’ and 25 girls’ under-18 teams have confirmed entry into this Junior National Basketball Championship in New Delhi finals to be played on 12th July at Thyagaraj stadium.

CEO Harish Sharma BFI addressed Press conference of 62 Jr National Basketball championship at Thyagaraj stadium said," Junior Championship is gender friendly game,the Stadia with CWG facilities is one of the best with three Court of wooden floors will give the players comforts of International standards.BFI to provide two American coach during the tournament to give improvement skill tips to the players during matches.Players to be provided with air-conditioning lodging facilities and best of meals along with proper kits."

The championship will be organised by the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) in association with the Delhi Basketball Association (DBA). The matches will be played in fully air-conditioned indoor courts at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium with total capacity of 5000 fold-able chair.Players born on or after 01.01.1993 are eligible to participate.The participating fifty one teams for Junior National Basketball Championship.DD Sports live will cover the events for last three days for the benefit of the players at large across the nation.

Boys: Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Orissa, Pondicherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal.

Girls: Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Orissa, Pondicherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal.

Punjab (Boys) and Kerala (Girls) won the 61st Junior National Basketball Championship, which were from October 24-31 in Vashi (Maharashtra).
