India signs credit agreement worth Rs 4600 cr with WB

India signs credit agreement worth Rs 4600 cr with WB to strengthen NRLP-India on Monday signed a credit agreement worth 4600 crore rupees with the World Bank for the National Rural Livelihoods Project (NRLP).

According to an official release, the Project will strengthen the implementation of the Government of India’s newly launched National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM).

Mr. Jairam Ramesh said project will help scale up India's battle against poverty through the activation of self-help groups, skill building, and other innovative livelihood interventions among BPL households. NRLP will specifically focus on 12 states which have the highest number of poor people, thereby creating a major impact on poverty.
