Monsoon Session of Parliament

The monsoon session of the Parliament begins Monday.

The Government has decided to introduce 32 new bills
including the Lokpal Bill,
Land Acquisition Bill,
Food Security Bill,
the Benami Transactions Bill
and the Mines and Minerals Bill.

Leader of the Opposition, Sushma Swaraj told reporters after an all party meeting convened by Speaker Meira Kumar that the BJP will take up the issues of internal security, Lok Pal and corruption during the session. The Opposition also plans to raise issues like inflation, Telangana, rail accidents and Maoist violence in the session.
