No consensus on the scope and ambit of Lokpal

Congress core group will meet in New Delhi today to formalise the party's stand on the Lokpal issue. AIR correspondent reports, party’s top leadership will work out the contours of the issue as the government has already committed to introduce the Bill in the coming monsoon session beginning next month. Though the all party meeting saw consensus on a strong Lokpal Bill but there was no consensus on the scope and ambit of Lokpal. The Congress has earlier said the party is opposed to bringing the Prime Minister and the higher judiciary under the Lokpal Bill.
