The Master Collection by People for Animals

People For Animals has launched a collection of the finest porcelain gold and silver rimmed mugs bearing art by some of the greatest Indian artists. The mugs cost just Rs 500 each. The proceeds of the event will go towards building animal shelters in Ghaziabad and Mysore.Paintings need not always be on the wall or even on canvas and paper. They can be part of what you use every day. You can have your own unique collection of art without having to pay crores for one painting.

In fact , PFA sees no reason why art should be confined to canvas, and limited to museums or the homes and offices of the super rich. Art should be accessible, affordable and enjoyable. Every year, therefore, People For Animals introduces a new and exciting art concept. For people who like surrounding themselves with Razas and Souzas and Raja Ravi Varmas, People For Animals presents a limited edition of the finest porcelain mugs.

If last year, People For Animals splashed art onto carpets, this year it has innovated another art collectible: a collection of masterpieces by all time greats, both past and present, of Indian art rendered onto the finest porcelain gold and silver rimmed mugs.

The Master Collection features works by 50 top artists ranging from masters from the past, Raja Ravi Varma, Jamini Roy , F.N. Souza and Ramkinkar Baij to living legends like Raza, Sabavala, Arpita Singh, Paramjit Singh, Vaikuntam, Paresh Maity, Nayanaa Kanodia, Farhad Hussain, Binoy Varghese, G.R.Iranna, and Bose Krishnamachari.

Each design is produced in a limited edition of 100 pieces only. Each is offered in its own luxurious box in an elegant assortment of shapes and sizes at just Rs. 500/- each.

Invented around 10,000 BC when a handle was first stuck on a cup, mugs have progressed from being simply beverage containers to ubiquitous often decorative desktop items. Here , for the first time, the mug has been dramatically elevated to an object d’art and moved from the kitchen and desk to the formal drawing and dining area.

The Master Collection will be launched on 19th August 2011 Friday at 08:00 pm,at a glittering cocktail party at Delhi's luxury hotel, The Lalit , where the exhibition will continue over the next two days. As with previous PFA events, the exhibition is expected to attract a significant turnout of the city's elite including diplomats, business leaders, young entrepreneurs and executives as well as India 's growing fraternity of art patrons. Event proceeds will go towards building an animal shelter in Mysore and in Ghaziabad .
