Aircel PGTI announces Aircel PGTI Players Championship presented by The Willingdon Sports Club

Mumbai, September 19, 2011: The Aircel Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) has announced the Aircel PGTI Players Championship presented by The Willingdon Sports Club, scheduled to be held at The Willingdon Sports Club, Mumbai, from 20-23 September, 2011. This event boasts a prize money of Rs. 4 million. The Pro-Am event will be played on September 24th.

The last edition of the tournament witnessed Kolkata’s Raju Ali Mollah record his first win on the Aircel PGTI. The field at this year’s tournament will feature some of India’s top professionals, including Ashok Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Chiragh Kumar, defending champion Raju Ali Mollah, Anura Rohana, Shamim Khan, Shankar Das, Sanjay Kumar, Mandeo Singh Pathania, Vijay Kumar, Gaurav Ghei, Rashid Khan and Harmeet Kahlon, to name a few.

Mr. Pradip Patel, Captain, The Willingdon Sports Club, said, “We are delighted to play host to the top professionals in the country during the Aircel PGTI Players Championship. Golf aficionados in Mumbai look forward to four days of high-quality golf. On behalf of The Willingdon Sports Club I wish the participants all the best.”

Founded in 1917, The Willingdon Sports Club is home to a small but very picturesque course. The Willingdon, though an extremely short course, is a pleasant golfing experience. It has narrow fairways and large trees. There are two par-5s on the course, seven par-4s and as many as nine par-3s.
