Crude pipe-bomb recovered from route of Advani's yatra

A crude pipe-bomb recovered from the outskirts of the city on Friday, en- route  to be taken by BJP leader L K Advani on the second leg of his yatra against corruption.

Madurai Police sources said the five-ft pipe bomb, connected with wires  recovered under a bridge at Alampatti near Tirumangalam, about 30 Kms from in Madurai.

One person identified as Nehru was detained and was being questioned, they said.

Advani, with  highest "Z-plus" category security, was on his way to Srivilliputhur via Tirumangalam, where he is scheduled to address a public meeting.media agencies
