12th India-European Union Summit begin in New Delhi.

12th India-European Union Summit has begun in New Delhi.

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will hold wide ranging talks with the 27 nation EU President Mr. Herman Van Rompuy and President European Commission Mr. Jose Manuel Barroso.

The two sides are expected to discuss an entire gamut of bilateral issues including accelerating trade ties in times of economic downturn, global financial crisis, climate change and counter terrorism among other issues.

Agreements in various sectors are likely to be signed after the talks. AIR correspondent reports that the summit's key focus will be on ramping up economic ties as European Economies have a fresh look of India which is growing at the rate of over 7 per cent when the Eurrozone is caught in a stubborn recession.
