Goa assembly polls nominations begin today


Goa, filing of nominations for 40 assembly constituencies for polls to be held on the 3rd of next month will begin today.  Notification for filing nominations will be issued this morning. 13th of this month is the last date for filing of nominations and scrutiny will be done on the 14th.  Last date of withdrawal of candidatures will be on the 16th of this month.  The Trinamool Congress in Goa released its manifesto yesterday in Panaji for the forthcoming assembly polls in the presence of senior central leader and Union Minister Mr Mukul Roy.  Speaking to media after the release of the manifesto, the state unit chief, Dr. Wilfred de Souza, said that the TMC would contest 35 seats. The party has already released its list of 10 candidates.  The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentary committee, last night, finalized candidates for 22 constituencies for the upcoming Goa assembly elections.
