Assam, the first Indo-Myanmar car rally will leave Guwahati for Yangon
on Sunday morning. State Industry minister Pradyut Bordoloi has formally
inaugurated the rally this evening at a ceremonial function.
The minister hoped that the rally will further boost bilateral relations
between the two neighboring countries. The rally is jointly organized by
the North-East Federation on International Trade and Assam Speed and
Adventure Club.
The organizers said that the theme of the event is-‘Mapping Connectivity in the perspective of North-East and Myanmar, focusing on building bilateral relation’. The car rally will reach Yangon via Dimapur -Kohima -Imphal- More. Over 70 cars will take part in the rally from all over the country. The rally will cover 5 thousand kilometers. The organizers also said, a few foreigners are also likely to participate in Imphal.
The car rally will reach Yangon on 17 March and return to Guwahati next day. It will come to an end on 22 March when the contingents arrive in Guwahati.
