“Demand for books in the kids section has increased in the recent years. Children should be exposed to books at a young age so that they should enjoy reading and books are not forced on them. We would like that readers should visit the World Book Fair and inculcate the habit of reading among themselves as well as their children.” Said Ms. Mudit Mohini, Director, Vishv Books.
To make their stall more exciting at the book fair, Vishv Books held a story telling activity for the kids visiting the stall along with a lot many activities too. Their stall was the biggest hit at the Delhi book fair 2011 and was acknowledged with the Gold Award in the Best Stall Display category by ITPO, the organizers of the fair.
Ms. Mohini believes that kid’s books are growing in popularity with each passing year.
“Another good example is last year’s Delhi Book fair where there were less numbers of publishers participated but the footfall was still high. This was because of the Children’s books section which drew huge numbers of kids along with their parents and generated good sales,” she adds.
Vishv Books has participated at various book fairs across the world which includes London Book fair and Frankfurt Book fair too. In India they have exhibited at the Jaipur, Patna, Bengaluru and also at the Delhi Book Fair 2011.
