SUKHBIR PUTS ‘BIG TICKET’ INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS ON FAST TRACK
* Constitutes A Committee Under Chief Secretary To Remove Impediments In Their Timely Completion
* To Personally Monitor Every Project Seeks Report For Making Amritsar An International Tourist Destination
Chandigarh:- Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab
today put the ‘big ticket’ infrastructure project on fast-track
constituting a high-level seven member committee under Chief Secretary
to ensure the time bound completion of all these projects.
Presiding over a high-level meeting of Administrative Secretaries here
today, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the SAD-BJP Government has
come to power with a promise to make Punjab most favourite investment
destination by assuring world class infrastructure besides 24 hours
quality power supply. He said that it was his personal commitment to the
people of Punjab that all ‘Big Ticket’ projects including Thermal
Plants, Road Infrastructure Project, Industrial Parks, Textile Park,
Educational Institutes, would be completed in a time-bound manner in
most professional way. He constituted a seven member committee under
Chief Secretary that would include secretaries of Civil Aviation, PWD,
Finance, PIDB, Housing, Industry and Local Government that would review
the progress of every project and remove the teething problems coming in
the way of timely completion of them.
Seeking fixed deadlines
for completion of every project in the check list, Mr. Badal said that
these deadlines would be sacrosanct for him and it was imperative for
the committee to work out a system to meet these deadlines. He said that
he would personally monitor these project on monthly basis.
Emphasising on making the holy city Amritsar an international tourist
destination, Mr. Badal asked the Principal Secretary Tourism to submit a
plan of action in this regard. He said that Amritsar has a great
potential as it was all set to become a business hub of North India with
the inauguration of Rs 110 Crore Integrated Check Post at Attari border
that would have cascading effect on trade and commerce of Punjab.

Principal Secretary to Deputy CM Mr. P.S. Aujla, Principal Secretary

Civil Aviation Mr. Vishwajit Khanna, Secretary PIDB Mr. Anurag Aggarwal,

Principal Secretary to Deputy CM Mr. Manvesh Singh Sidhu.
