Briefly, the First National Telecom AwardsTM were presented in the year 2007 by Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, the then Hon'ble Minister of State for Communications & IT followed by the 2008 awards being presented by the then Hon'ble Union Minister for Communications and IT. The 2009 Awards were presented by Shri Gurudas Kamat, Hon'ble Minister of State for Communications IT, the then Secretary DOT, Chairman TRAI and the 2010 National Telecom AwardsTM were presented by Shri Kariya Munda, Dy Speaker Lok Sabha, Dr Mukul Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri Vincent Pala, Minister of State, Dr. J S Sarma, Chairman TRAI, Shri P J Thomas, the then Secretary Telecom and Chairman Telecom Commission.
