US Navy jet crashes into residential area

A US Navy fighter jet has crashed into an apartment complex in the US state of Virginia. Seven people have so far been taken to hospital. FA-18 jet crashed into the residential area in Virginia Beach shortly after taking off from the nearby Naval Air Station Oceana on Friday. Fighter jet plane burst into flames, which engulfed the apartment complex and other buildings, causing heavy damage to them.

Local fire department officials say 2 pilots who ejected from the fighter jet and 5 people on the ground are receiving treatment at hospital.The US Navy says it is investigating what caused the accident.
