Iran nuclear talks begin in Moscow

Iran nuclear talks will begin in Moscow, Iran's nuclear program will begin on Monday in the Russian capital, Moscow. It's the third round of talks since April when the negotiations resumed.

Taking part are negotiators from the "group of six" -- the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany. EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton and Iran's top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili will also join the discussions.

The two sides remain far apart in their positions. The six countries are demanding that Iran halt its 20-percent enrichment program, which they say can lead to nuclear arms development.

Iran's government insists it has the right to the peaceful use of nuclear power and is calling for economic sanctions to be largely relaxed.

If the talks fail, the United States and the European Union plan to impose a further series of sanctions targeting Iranian oil exports sometime toward the end of June and early July.
