Beijing record rainfall in sixty years


 Beijing experiencing the record  rainfall in sixty years at least 10 people died when their houses collapsed and 30,000 have had to evacuate.Chinese weather authorities said on Sunday that the capital had more than 200 millimeters of rainfall in 10 hours, 460 millimeters fell in mountainous areas of the capital’s suburbs.
Heavy rain and strong winds are causing major destruction. The weather authorities say landslides and floods could occur at any time in the mountains.Hundreds of vehicles were submerged on roads in central Beijing. Rescue workers are using life boats to save drivers.
Air traffic to the capital city has 525 flights were cancelled at Beijing Airport, affecting 80,000 passengers.
The rain paused early on Sunday morning, city government has issued an alert for landslides in mountainous areas.
