"Shruti Mishra" 19 July, 2012,New Delhi:Asean newsline:TOEFL scholarships were awarded to ten Indian students by Educational Testing Services (ETS) Scott Nelson, Vice President of Marketing and Public Affairs in New Delhi on July 18th 2012. The scholarship is about USD 70,000. A brief with the students :
Dhruv Chand Aggarwal has a long-term goal. He wants to take
care of weaker sections of the society in our country. He will be doing a
Bachelor course in Economics from Yale University, USA, followed by Doctorate
in Development economics. He wants to use his experience gained abroad, to work in India.
Deborshi Barat is a multi-talented personality. Apart from
scoring 90% in his 10th and 80% in his Higher Secondary
Examinations, he has acted in a Bengali National award winning movie, loves
travelling, writing and playing synthesizer. He has done his Bachelors in Law
and wants to pursue Masters in Law and Diplomacy, a unique course, from the
Fletcher’s school, Tufts University, Boston. He believes the border disputes
and island issues can be resolved by social, political and economical will. He
feels International diplomacy is all about “bargaining power”; one can get more
from the country or organisation by mediation, arbitration and negotiation.
Swathi Sadagopan will pursue Masters in Electrical
engineering from Mcgill University, Canada. She did her Electrical engineering
from College of Engineering, Guindy. Her hobbies include writing and blogging.
She wants to pursue research work.
