Policy makers, academics to debate future of Indian management education

New Delhi August 9, 2012 The third annual Indian Management Conclave to be held in the Capital next week will bring together nearly 300 policy makers, senior management academics and recruiters to debate and offer solutions to B-schools on how to survive and thrive in face of policy uncertainty and imminent market-driven shake out.
Union Education Minister of State for Higher Education E Ahmad will open the conclave and deliver inaugural address.
Maruti Suzuki India and IIM Ranchi Chairman, who scripted the recent report on new governance structure of IIMs, RC Bhargava, eminent management professor and Cornell Dean Soumitra Dutta, and policy maker and AICTE Chief Dr SS Mantha will be among those delivering key sessions.
The speakers at the MBAUniverse.com organized annual conclave will feature 35 Chancellors, Vice Chancellors, Directors and Deans from IIMs, PGDM B-schools and Universities.
Indian management education is experiencing churn after years of growth with hundreds of B-schools closing down and majority of them of ending up with unfilled seats in last few years. This is alarming especially when industry demand for trained management graduates has not dipped significantly. The conclave will feature sessions by policy makers to clear the air on policy framework, Indian B-schools leaders will share their experiences on how to navigate successfully in the future.
