With much disturbed and shock we have been hearing news of series of violent incidents currently breaking out in Assam, India between the Boro Indigenous People and the Illegal Muslim Bangladeshi immigrants.
We have been hearing news that a series of unfortunate incidents of communal clashes between the simple, straight forward, peace loving, kind and loyal Boro Indigenous People and hostile illegal Muslim immigrants provoked and aided by some miscreants across the Indo-Bangla boarder has been erupting in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and other parts of western Assam sending out a shock wave all over the world. We have heard that this unfortunate violence broke out suddenly following the gruesome murders of four Boro youths by some unidentified miscreants belonging to hostile illegal Muslim settlers at Jaipur Badapara, a Muslim village located at about one kilometer away from Kokrajhar Police station on the 20th July at about 8 pm, reportedly instigated by some armed anti-social elements who have penetrated from across the international boarder through Dhubri and took shelter in the Muslim immigrants’ dominated villages weeks ahead to deliberately create social tension inciting for communal violence between the native Boros and the illegal Muslim immigrants .
We as well-wisher of the Boro peoples and their welfare, strongly condemn this violent incident, which is of serious concern for all of us reportedly which have already claimed more than 95 innocent lives belonging to the warring communities, another 60 injured and several missing, affecting more than 250 villages, 48,000 families and 5,500 houses burnt as per preliminary government reports so far. The State Government had set up 500 relief camps during the peak time for affected families in which more than 400, 000 (Four hundred thousand) people are languishing in various temporary relief camps after being forced to flee their homes for their lives. We have been hearing that though, the present situation appeared to be improving slightly but internally remained tense due to lack of adequate security arrangement and failure of the administration to tackle the situation effectively, especially failure to prevent the continued provocations to indulge in communal clashes by the reportedly presence of vested interest external forces in the Muslim dominated villages in Assam.
From various reliable sources at the ground, we have come to learn that behind this gruesome violence there is a deep political conspiracy hatched by some anti-social elements sponsored by some religious as and vested sectarian political parties who have been conspiring to divide the people in Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) of Assam in communal lines and have been indulging to incite for communal violence to destabilize the emotional integration, peace and tranquillity among the different sections of the people living in the present Bodoland Territorial Council areas.
