Auto Industry: India in Changing World Order

Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the apex automobile industry association, representing all vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in India, is organizing this year’s Annual Convention on Thursday, 6th September 2012 at Hotel Taj Palace in New Delhi.The PR man at the counter is creating the mess by not allowing the geniune reporters to get to the conventions and even photographers with credible record are put to contact their offices for media mess and chaos at its counter on the first day.Convention popular with media finds itself in sorry state of affairs and on complaining none from the organiser side to come and help the SSi media men.When shall we improve to be collectively collaborative and corodinator to keep the best of spirit going. The Auto Industry of India has been recording tremendous growth over the years and has emerged as a major contributor to India’s GDP. This dynamic industry currently accounts for almost 7% of our GDP and employing about 17 million people both directly and indirectly. Contribution of India in global auto industry development is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, the theme of this year’s programme is “Auto Industry: India in Changing World Order”.

The convention would focus on issues influencing Indian automotive industry’s competitiveness, growth and its integration with the global economy. Senior industry experts from all over the world including CEOs and senior representatives from the Indian / Global OEMs and component manufacturers participate in this programme. This event is also attended by the policy makers and the decision makers of the Government of India including ministers and secretaries apart from other stakeholders including the media. Over the years, this event has become India’s most important annual automotive convention.
