Akshay Sharma holds on to the lead in round two

The cut was declared at seven-over-147. Thirty-nine professionals made the cut for the third and final round scheduled to be played on Thursday, October 25.

Akshay Sharma’s (64-70) second round was dotted with five birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey. Akshay, who started from the 10th, had a brilliant first nine as he birdied the 15th, 16th and 18th to move to nine-under for the tournament. He then had a poor run from the first to the third where he made double bogey-bogey-bogey to drop four strokes. Sharma came back well with birdies on the fourth and seventh before dropping his final bogey of the day on the eighth.

Akshay said, “I had some good moments today. I chipped-in from the bunker on the fourth. I also sank a 20-footer on the 16th and landed it pretty close on the seventh and 18th. I had a rough patch on the first, second and third where I lost focus and hit some ordinary shots. I’ll look to play regulation golf in order to stay ahead in the final round.”

Damodar Kumawat (68-67) is placed second at five-under-135. His second round featured six birdies and three bogeys.

Rahul Bajaj of Noida is in third place at three-under-137.
