King of Romance' Yash Chopra to be cremated today



Famous Film director Yash Chopra who passed away on Sunday, will be cremated today at Pawan Hans in Mumbai.

The 80 year old Chopra was admitted to Lilavati Hospital last week following report of Dengue. He passed away last evening.
President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and several other political leaders have condoled the death of veteran film-maker Yash Chopra.
Yash Chopra changed the face of romance in Hindi cinema to become a brand in Bollywood with numerous hits under his belt in his five-decade long illustrious career.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni also condoled the death.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan also condoled the death of the departed film maker.
Film Fraternity also condoled the death of the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra.
The veteran film maker had announced his retirement from film direction last month. The filmmaker was looking forward to the release of his upcoming romantic movie 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead. It was set to release on 13th November.
In his over five decade old career has made several hits like 'Deewar', 'Trishul', 'Chandni', 'silsila', 'Veer Zaara' and others.
Chopra has won several film awards, including six National Film Awards and eleven Filmfare awards, including four Filmfare Awards for Best Director.
