Golf Industry Show_- A catalyst for growth of real estate and golf tourism in
India
India’s official golf trade show and exhibition to highlight brands such as Cleveland,
Taylormade, The Lalit, J & K tourism, Thai Tourism, Formula 1, Toro,
Yamaha Carts, GolfPlan at Jaypee Greens Golf Resort & Spa
New Delhi/Noida,: The three
day 5th Asian Golf Industry Show successfully ended at Jaypee
Greens, Greater Noida. The exhibition from 14th September to
16th September highlighted
the merchandise, equipments and facilities by providing a perfect platform for
all golf businesses from golfing equipments to its course construction. This show
brought to India from Beijing is majorly supported by three key organizations
-- Asian Golf Course Owners Association, Golf Course Superintendents and
Managers Association of India and Indian Golf Union, thus bringing big industry
professionals to practice their sports and trade under one roof.
Speaking about the event, Sports & Leisure Worldwide CEO Mr. Anil
Dev, whose company is the show promoter, said “a golf real estate fund of
$150 million would be created to give a boost to Indian golf industry in the
coming years and the Asian Golf Course Owners Association have decided to focus on the
development of golf estates and increase tourist inflow to India by providing
them with eminent leisure of golfing. The aim is to develop a solid
infrastructure in the next five years, including development of resort golf
courses at par with international standards” said Anil Dev.
Mr. Dev further added that there is a potential for at least 400 new golf
courses in the country with possible investments of Rs 2.48 lakh crore, which
might generate employment for 20,000 people. This whole criteria is to depict
the country’s awareness in promotion of sports, fitness and health, the show
provided ideal access to this market area.
Renowned personalities including Mr.
Sia Yeung Leng Chairman Blue Canyon Mr. Ronald Fream, Golf Plan; Allan Delvin,
President AGCSA; and Howard Swan, Golf Designer addressed the seminars at the show.
Brands like Titliest, Taylormade, Callaway TORO, GPSi Asia , Ransome Jacobsen were
all present and showcased the latest in equipment.
In fact, India Corporate honchos from
Blackberry, Mr. Sunil Dutt, Mr. Anil Monga, MD, Emmsons, Mr. Gurnam Arora, MD, Kohinoor,
Mr. Rahul Lovell, Ernst & Young, Mr. Arvind Saxena, BD Head, Airtel, Mr.
Shekhar Agarwal, Head, HP Printer, Mr. Parvez Ahmed, MD, Max Hospital, Mr.
Sharad Arora, Head(Wireless Mobility)Tata Docomo and
Mr. Vikram Bakshi, MD, Macdonalds and
others have come to support this grand show.
Over the three days, the exhibition had
some interesting seminars and conferences, especially Property Buyers Workshop
organized by Jaypee Group and Tourism Conclave that will be addressed by
eminent panelists like Mr. Karan Anand, Cox & Kings and Mr. Ferry Monnee,
Head, Volvo.
