Anti-Lanka UN resolution ; India votes against SLanka



India on Thursday voted in favour of UNHRC resolution against Sri Lanka on human rights, 13 countries opposed the US resolution, while 8 abstained from voting.

The United States-sponsored resolution at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Genevawas passed with the support of 25 member countries.

India expressed concern, but failed to move any amendment as demanded by DMK and other groups in Tamil Nadu.
