BSP leader among two dead in twin shooting incident in Delhi
Two firing incident in the Delhi national capital took place on Tuesday.
Early morning, BSP
leader,businessman Deepak Bharadwaj was shot dead by two men in his
farmhouse in south Delhi on Tuesday, police said.The
incident took place in the farmhouse 'Nitish Kunj' located in Vasant
Kunj area at around 9:15 AM.Two
men came in a car and had a chat with 62-year-old Bharadwaj and after
sometime they opened fire at him, a senior police official said.He was
rushed to Army's Research and Referral Hospital where he succumbed to
injuries. The post-mortem will be carried out in AIIMS, the official
said.Bharadwaj was into real estate business and had contested the 2009
Lok Sabha elections on a BSP ticket.
In another shooting spree, in after noon ,25 year old woman
was shot dead and her father injured allegedly by the woman’s husband in
a Metro station in east Delhi, police said.The
incident took place on the escalator of the Karkardooma Metro Station at
12:10 PM. The deceased has been identified as Deepti. Pawan, the
accused, fled the scene after leaving the 12 bore double barrel gun at
the spot.
Deepti and her father Bisham Das were entering the Metro through an
escalator when Pawan allegedly opened fire.Five empty cartridges were
recovered from the spot.
