Delhi Basketball
Association announces the First Ever 3x3 Basketball Event
With more than 40 teams
participating, spectators will witness a bonanza of fun-filled basketball
action. This new format is the equivalent of T20 in cricket and is being
promoted worldwide by FIBA, the international body for Basketball. The game is
played aggressively for 10 minutes duration or till one of the teams score 21
points. Each team consists of 4 players with only 3 players allowed on court at
a time. The fast-paced and intense competition among the teams makes it a nerve
racking experience for the spectators. Since this format is played on a half
court, 3 matches will be played simultaneously; making for an electrifying
atmosphere.
The 3 on 3 format is an exciting
addition to promote the game of basketball, and apart from being widely popular
with recreational leagues, it is now gaining prevalence in the international
sporting arena with the 1st FIBA ASIA 3x3 Championships for Men and
Women being held this year in May and June (Doha and Bangkok). The numerous
matches that will be played in Delhi on Sunday will be observed by the Delhi

grounds to select individuals to represent India at the 1st FIBA
ASIA 3x3 Championships.
