Inter state leg of MYFC 2013 all set to kick-off in Bangalore

New Delhi: The Inter State Championship of 3rd Mahindra Youth Football Challenge 2013 (MYFC), the country's largest Under-14 School Football Tournament, will kick off next week in the Garden city of Bangalore, signalling the beginning of intense footballing action. Before the tournament gets underway, the six champion teams from across the country will undergo a training session with coaches from Celtic Football Club. The Practice Sessions will be held from 13th – 16th April 2013, 8:00 am to 6:00pm at Bangalore Football Stadium.  

The Coaches from Celtic visiting India for this session with the young footballers are Mark Tobin - Centre of Excellence Coach, Tom McKay - Academy Goalkeeping Coach, Michael McIlroy - Grassroots Coach and Greig Robertson - International Academy Development Officer Youth Academy Coach. The intense session will help the players understand the game better and improve their individual games, besides this the camp would include training in - ball control, skill development, physical endurance and game strategy.

The teams that will battle it out for the title of Mahindra Youth Football Challenge are Greenwood International – Bangalore, Don Bosco High School – Mumbai, DPS Vasant Kunj - New Delhi, Ashoknagar Bidyasagar Banibhavan – Kolkata, Don Bosco School – Goa and St Joseph Higher Secondary school – Kerala.
MYFC is the Mahindra Group's commitment to promote football at the grassroots level. The company has partnered with Scottish football giants, Celtic Football Club, who will take on the responsibility of training and grooming young talent, identified through this initiative. This year too MYFC has got on board 92.7 BIG FM, the country's largest FM network, with 45 radio stations across the country, as the official Radio Partner for this edition of the tournament. The initiative is promoted and executed by India's leading sports management company, Procam International.
