Dear Friends,
In May, we will have a fantastic CCM summer concert, a lecture, exhibition and film screening commemorating the 50th death anniversary of Ervin Baktay, a noted author known to have popularised Indian culture in Hungary. We will participate in the European Union Film Festival with József Sípos’s Eszter’s inheritance and will also host the Film Festival in our auditorium. We will also showcase the prize winning paintings of the on-the-spot children’s painting competition on Hungarian folk art and Amrita Shergil from June to August. Coming from different backgrounds and countries, Melinda Ruck, Katerina Svitilova, Iboiya Jeszenszky and Borbála Szij have found themselves in the same place - likely for different reasons and different motivation - but with one common passion: Photography.

Presented by the Capital City Minstrels
The Capital City Minstrels (CCM), Delhi's best known choir, comprises people from all walks of life, all with one thing in common – their love of music. CCM's repertoire spans a wide range; from the earliest choral music to the entire spectrum of western classical music, and opera to ballads, folk songs, Broadway musicals, rock, pop, jazz as well as Indian music arranged for choir performance. CCM has performed more than 50 concerts since the early 1990's.
This season presents Classical pieces by Western maestros like Bach, Mendelssohn, Handel and others.

Commemorative lecture on the 50th death anniversary of Ervin Baktay
Ervin Baktay Amrita Shergil's uncle was a famous Hungarian Indologist.
The Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre in cooperation with the India International Centre commemorates the 50th death anniversary of Ervin Baktay with a seminar. The speakers will include both Hungarian and Indian scholars who will discuss about his life and works and connection with India.

Photo-documentary exhibition and film on his life
Ervin Baktay was an author noted for popularizing Indian culture in Hungary. He had started his career as a painter and he encouraged his niece Amrita Sher-Gil to pursue art. Baktay gave up painting to study eastern religions and art, and became a renowned Indologist. The exhibition presents his life journey through this enchanting photo documentary exhibition.
The film screened on the opening day is a documentary on his life.
(The exhibition is on view on weekdays from 10 am – 4 pm only)

As part of the ongoing EUFF 2013, Hungary will participate with the film Eszter's Inheritance directed by József Sipos which will be screened as per the following schedule:
