Issues & Challenges to India’s Manufacturing Sector
A survey based empirical study

Manufacturing sector has emerged as a highly vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian economy over the last five decades. The sector plays an imperative role in the progressive growth and development of the economy. This is evident with the fact that the sector contributes 15.24 per cent of the country’s GDP, and provides employment to over 6 million persons. This sector has huge potential and has the ability to take the Indian economy to higher growth trajectory.

The Indian Government has taken numerous measures to promote the manufacturing industry, and in 2011 it launchedNational Manufacturing Policy (NMP) to give further boost to this sector. However, despite initiatives undertaken by the Government of India, the sector is suffering with various constraints of easy access to finance, technological up gradation, infrastructural support, complex regulatory system etc.

With this backdrop to understand the role and challenges faced by the Manufacturing sector we have designed a structured questionnaire. We therefore request you to kindly share your views and experiences on this sector through this questionnaire. You may also circulate it amongst your contacts to widen the sample size of our study.

We hereby request you to kindly support us in this endeavour by filling up the attached questionnaire latest by 10th May.
