The anti reservation attitude of our courts: Sharad Yadav

It is matter of great distress and utmost concern that there is a move by the Government again to dilute reservation policy for OBC/ ST/SC. The 10 years old matter regarding reservation in Faculty post in All India Institute of Medical Sciences was taken up by Constitutional Bench of  Hon. Supreme Court in a very haste, even though the Honourable Chief Justice is retiring on 18th July.   The matter which has national importance, effecting the 80% population of this country and has very wide repercussions & ramifications was heard by Hon Supreme Court in the manner in which makes me very suspicious.  From the last few days, I am keeping a strict watch on this issue and it is very evident that the attitude of Government and AIIMS is against reservation and all efforts are made to lose this case, and ultimately Supreme Court gives judgment once again against reservation. Government is trying hard with the help of Court to stop reservation in all medical posts of AIIMS. The ultimate aim of the present Government is to stop reservations in all the faulty posts of medical, engineering , IIT, Centre  and State Universities and many more areas.  Recently the reservation in promotion was also stuck down by the Supreme Court and till now government is in no mood to pass an ordinance in favour of this.

I am  aware  of  the  recent  development going  in  AIIMS and Ministry of  Health.     The Government and the AIIMS administration were trying their best not to give reservation in faculty posts.   The direct post of the professor is the best example.  From the last 2 years I am struggling, written letters to Hon. Minister also,   but the government was keeping silence.   Indeed all measures were taken  &  tried not to give and even to stop existing reservation in faculty posts of AIIMS.    When it  became clear that  they  could  not  stop it politically  and  at the level of  bureaucracy

they have taken the path of court. The anti reservation attitude of our courts are well known.

I urge all the MP`s/MLA`s/ politicians  of all political parties and appeal  all the OBC/SC/ST brothers and sisters to stand united and  come on streets  against this anti-reservation  move by the  Government and Supreme Court.  Once again we all should be united and fight for OBC/SC/ST.  However, I welcome the statement of Chief Justice that there should be reservation in the judiciary also.
