Thousands march demanding Independence for south Yemen

Thousands of people have protested in south Yemen demanding the region’s independence on the 19th anniversary of the civil war with the North. "No union and no federation - no to the occupation!" the crowds shouted in Mukalla, waving the flags of the former South Yemen. The protesters demanded new roadmap for secession under Arab or international patronage. North and South Yemen united in 1990, but in 1994 the South claimed independence triggering a civil war that was won by the North
