Bengaluru welcomes the 7th leg of the
Hero Women’s Pro golf tour 2013
Bengaluru, August 13,
2013:
The seventh leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour 2013 is all set to get
underway at the Eagleton Golf Club here in Bengaluru from tomorrow. In form
Kolkata Golfer, Neha Tripathi, will be a strong contender for the top spot in
the seventh leg along with veteran golfer Smriti Mehra. With Neha having won
three legs and Smiti winning two on the tour so far; Hero MotoCorp sponsored
Sharmila Nicollet is the only other golfer to have won a leg this season. The
tournament, which will be played from the 13th – 16th of august, carries a
total prize-money of INR 5,00,000.
Following
her win in the fifth and sixth leg, Neha Tripathi will be eager to extend her
winning spree this week as well. Looking at her impressive performance graph,
the Kolkata golfer took over the top spot from Smriti Mehra in the Hero Order
of Merit for the current season and now leads with INR 5,60,000 in her kitty
making her jump by a margin of over INR 1,00,000 beyond the closest contestant.
Local
champion and Hero Motocorp sponsored Sharmila Nicollet will be missing from
this leg of the tournament on account of a foot injury she endured during the
LET tour this summer.
Chandigarh
golfers Preetinder Kaur and Saaniya Sharma along with Delhi’s Vani Kapoor will
also look to put up a strong challenge to the in-form Neha and Smriti.
With
a pleasant temperature of 21 degree Celsius and green speed of 9.5 stimp meter
one can look forward to an exciting leg of the Hero Women’s Pro golf tour
in Bengaluru this week.
The
Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2013 comprises a total thirteen legs
spanning across key locations in India across the year. The 7th leg
comes after a summer gap of four months and all players are eager & excited
to get back on the greens.
