Indian Women Create History

Monchengladbach, Germany: In a nail-biting finish, where the match was decided by the last flick of the hockey stick, the Indian junior women's team showed true grit and steely resolve as they battled past England to win bronze at the Junior Women's Hockey World Cup. Tied at 1-1 after regulation time, the third place would be decided on a penalty shootout. The young girls held their nerve and came on top after each side took 7 shots on goal, with the scoreline reading 3-2!

This was the first time an Indian junior women's team won a medal at a World Cup event.
