compared to 9.6% in June 2013 and urban
India inflation increased to 10.3%
in July as against 10.1% in June 2013)
The all
India general CPI (Combined) for
July 2013 stands at 9.6% as compared to 9.3% for the previous month of June
2013. The inflation rates for rural and urban areas for July 2013 are 9.1% and
10.3% respectively as compared to 9.6% and 10.1% respectively, for June 2013.

Rate of inflation
during July 2013 is high in vegetables at 16.4%, cereals and products at
16.03%, egg, meat & fish at 13.82%, milk and milk products at 8.14%,
condiments and spices at 7.43%, pulses and products at 5.55%

Consumer Price Index
for the month of July 2013 for rural, urban and combined stood at 133.8, 132.2 and 133.1 respectively.

General Consumer Price
Index (combined) is highest in the state of Meghalaya at 139.9, followed by
Karnataka at 137.5, Tamil Nadu at 136.7, Jharkhand at 134.6, Kerela at 134.3,
Puducherry at 134.2 & Andhra Pradesh at 134.1. The index stood lowest in Manipur at 117.7.
