IPC World Championships commence for Paralympian Sharath Gayakwad
Speedo athlete Sharath Gayakwad finishes 10th in 200m Individual Medley

athlete and ace Paralympic swimmer Sharath Gayakwad began his campaign
at the IPC World Swimming Championships in Montreal, Canada on Tuesday. Sporting the Speedo Fastskin 3 Racing System, he clocked a time of 2:42.92 minutes,finishing 10th in the 200m Individual Medley. Sharath's personal best timing of 2:38.17 in the 200m Individual Medley was clocked at the London Paralympic Games, 2012.
Clocking
a time of 2:03.79 minutes, Belarusian Ihar Boki earned a Gold medal
smashing his own world record of 2:06.30 minutes, he had set at the
London Paralympic Games, 2012. Iaroslav Densysenko of Ukraine won a
Silver medal and Russian Roman Dubovoy settled for a Bronze. Australia's
Sean Russo and Romania's Petre Prundaru finished fourth and fifth
respectively.
Sharath will be seen in action next at the 100m Breaststroke on Day 4 of the Championship on 15thAugust, 2013.
