Arab League urges action against Syria

Arab League foreign ministers have urged the United Nations, international community to take prompt action against the Syrian government over its suspected chemical gas attack in the country.
The foreign ministers from the 22-member Arab League issued a statement at an emergency meeting in Cairo on Sunday.
The statement said the government of President Bashar al-Assad is responsible for the August 21st attack and that those involved should face an international trial.
The statement did not refer to military action that the United States and France are considering.
Many of the Arab League member states support Syria’s opposition forces.Media agencies
