FAO conference
Prof. K.V. Thomas, Minister of for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution is leading an official delegation to participate in the 40th ministerial level conference of Food & Agricultural Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations from 7-11 October, 2013 at Rome.

Member countries of FAO have evinced keen interest in recently enacted National Food Security Act, the largest social welfare programme in the world to provide food security as legal right to about 82 crore people. Prof Thomas will make a presentation about this great initiative at the conference.

FAO’s Director General Mr. Jose Graziano da Silva and Ms. Ertharin Cousin, Executive Director of World Food programme have also scheduled meetings with Prof. Thomas to know more about the programme during his stay .
