Gurbani Singh in the Lead after Day 1 of the USHA CHANDIGARH LADIES AND JUNIOR GIRLS GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP 2013

Chandigarh, October2: The defending champion and current leader of the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Ladies Amateur Golf Tour, Gurgaon based Gurbani Singh returned an even par (72) score to lead the field of 41 golfers on expected lines, at the end of Day 1 of the USHA CHANDIGARH LADIES AND JUNIOR GIRLS GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP 2013.
Gurbani’s birdie on the sixth hole of the front nine, was cancelled out by a bogey on the 10th coming in. Gursimar Badwal, who is playing in her home state, was lying second, two strokes behind the leader. Gursimar finished the day with three birdies but three bogeys and one double bogey on the par Five 13th, ensured she could not finish the day on top of the Leaderboard.
Ridhima Dilawari (third, five strokes behind the leader), Millie Saroha (fourth, six behind) and Gauri Monga (sixth, seven behind)were the other notable players chasing the leader and it should be an interesting last two days as there has been very little in terms of golfing quality separating the above named, this season. Gurbani has been using her experience to good effect, to come up with more steady rounds of golf than the others.
