21-year old American model Olivia Frances Culpo who was adjudged Miss World 2012, was at Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar on Friday to attend the curtain raiser event for India’s second edition of International Tourism mart (ITM). Overwhelmed with the beauty and nature of Arunachal Pradesh, Miss Universe Olivia Frances Culpo has intended to visit the northeastern State again in the near future. Speaking exclusively to Frontier Television, Culpo said that she had found the best natural beauty in Arunachal Pradesh. The beauty queen is currently on a 10-day tour in India. Speaking to our Correspondent at the Banquet Hall in Itanagar, Culpo said that she found this hilly State (Arunachal Pradesh) as one of the most charming tourism hotspots. Amid little thunderstorm, the IG Park was packed with people who had come to have a glimpse of the beauty queen. Culpo’s northeast tour was promoted by Frontier Television. Speaking on the occasion, Frontier TV’s Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) Manoranjana Sinh said that the presence of Miss Universe in Arunachal Pradesh is an opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the State across the globe. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and Governor Nirbhay Sharma were also present on the occasion. Tuki said that his government has taken an initiative to showcase the tourism potential of Arunachal Pradesh across the globe. Echoing the view, Governor Nirbhay Sharma said that the international tourism festival is really a good initiative being taken by the State government. The event at the IG Park was also marked with the indigenous cultural and fashion shows. It was also a chance for the local beauties in Arunachal Pradesh to share the same dais with the beauty queen of the world. As a part of awareness campaign tour initiated by fashion designer Sanjana Jon, Olivia Culpo will also visit Mumbai and participate in a charity event to raise awareness against sex selective abortion.
