Puspender Kundu, who will be leading the team, was all exude in confidence. "We are a different side all together this time and we will come hard at everyone right from the beginning. We are not going to take anyone likely and will go for the kill in every match. We want to win and for that a good start to the tournament is very necessary," warned the skipper.
The 65-year-old club is a mixture of experience and youth, a combination which have proved to be a success around the world. HFC had just followed that tried and tested formula in building their squad this time.
Under the bar, the experience Rajat Guha is likely to take charge along with Amit Negi and Amit Sharma, who will be backing him up.
Giving cushion to the trio in the defence will be the skipper Pushpender Kundu himself along with another experience player in the form of former JCT player Prashant Jaggi. The youth force in the likes of Anil Bara, Manoj Joshi etc. will assist the experience guys in the backline.
In the middle of the pitch, the star attraction will be former Mohun Bagan captain Rishi Kapoor, crafting his skills and creativeness to help the strikers. He will have Kamson Kabui, Jagdeep Singh and others to help him out.
And finally, in the most important position - Forward, Hindustan FC will have their Nigerian recruit OO Sola. The onus to score goals for the side will be shared by Abhay Rana, Deepak Mehra and others other than the Nigerian.
